Case Details:

I have been an attorney since 1970 and a mediator since 1991. I have been married to Terrie for 35 years. We have four children, three sons (28), (18), (16) and one daughter (30). We have two dogs Irish Setter and a Weinereimer. I have been a soccer coach and referee for over twenty (20) years and a high school hockey coach. I am proudest of the fact that many of MTY soccer players were able to go to college with scholarships because of the help that I gave them. My interests include working for peace, human rights, resolving conflict, sports, law, dance, music, theater reading and education.

Professional areas of interest

Law

My primary legal focus is in various types of personal injury. I have experience in all types of motor vehicle issues, toxic tort issues, nursing home abuse, civil rights, including police brutality and prisoner abuse, and a very special interest in sexual misconduct, exploitation and abuse of clients by professionals in positions of power, authority or trust such as mental health professionals, medical professionals, clergy, law enforcement and others. I also have experience in criminal law . As a young attorney I was convinced that there was no legal case I could not take on. Now that I have matured, I realize there other attorneys that are better equipped then I in some things and therefore I will refer cases to the best available attorney.

Conflict resolution

I am extremely interested in the areas of conflict resolution and conflict engagement. I am extremely well educated and experienced in these areas with a primary focus on mediation. My strengths, besides my knowledge and experience in these areas are in my communication skills, my listening skills, my empathy and my compassion. I never force the parties into a resolution. I have confidence in the process and my ability that allows them to work toward and arrive at their own resolution, providing that resolution is what is in their best interests.
